    • Experienced at providing turnkey solutions for the hedging and marketing of motor and heating fuels products managing up to 300 million gallons annually.
    • Developed and managed hedging and risk management solutions for oil distribution companies using options, swaps, and futures resulting in low risk business strategies for the company.
    • Developed and directed trading strategies for proprietary purposes with the main focus on structure opportunities in the heating oil, diesel and gasoline derivatives markets resulting in higher than average industry wholesale and retail margins.
    • Developed and managed sophisticated option structure strategies for retail marketers of gasoline, heating oil and diesel fuels yielding increased margin for gallons delivered; resulting in an average of two to ten cents profit per gallon.
    • Extensive knowledge of trading calendar spreads and managing basis risk resulting in decreased product acquisition and inventory costs.
    • Extremely successful in growing gross margins using arbitrage and spread trading opportunities without taking directional trading risk resulting in annual margins at the wholesale level in excess of 8 cents per gallon.

    Noteworthy Accomplishments

    • Developed and managed a wholesale marketing system with over 500k bbls of terminal capacity.
    • Managed and trained marketing teams of 12 to 18 sales people that were proficient at marketing various hedging solutions and long term. buying recommendations for resellers and end users of fuels. Which led to increased margins and more profitable long term contracts.
    • Advised senior fuel procurement managers of timing for their purchases for long term supply contracts. This advice created a dependency on our company’s advice which would reduce competition from other suppliers.
    • Manage basis risk for large wholesalers of motor fuels and heating fuels which added additional margin for the company of over two cents per gallon.

    Special Contributions

    • Developed hedging accounting platforms that provided timely accurate balancing information and marked to market daily P&L’s for sold product and inventory costing.
    • Developed and managed gasoline retail margin enhancement programs which increased net margins 5 to 20%.
    • Understands the macroeconomic forces that drive oil prices having over 35 years of commodity trading experience specializing in the hedging of motor fuels and heating oil.

    • Has a superb knowledge of technical analysis and charting of commodity markets.
    • Has thorough knowledge of all aspects of risk management related to hedging and marketing.
